A deformation is an altered shape or position of a body part due to aberrant mechanical force that distorts an otherwise normal structure.

Examples of deformations include:

  • Arthrogryposis
  • Craniofacial asymmetry
  • Erb’s palsy
  • Klumpke’s palsy
  • Talipes
