Hemolytic anemia is bone marrow disorder in which its activity cannot compensate for the erythrocyte loss leading to anemia.
Examples of conditions that may cause hemolytic anemia include:
- Hereditary spherocytosis
- Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency
- Hemolytic anemia due to red blood cell trauma
- Immunohemolytic anemia
- Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria
- Sickle cell disease
- Thalassemia syndromes
